SOUTH KOREA has labbeled EURIPIDES²

FUNDING BODY

KIAT is the industrial technology policy development and implementation agency of the Korean Ministry of Knowledge Economy. KIAT’s major functions include: the study of industrial technology innovation policy and the development of policy recommendations; medium and long-term innovation related planning and result analysis; the establishment of infrastructure for industrial technology innovation; the promotion of regional industries and their development; the promotion of commercialisation and technological transfer; and the support and development of international innovation cooperation.

FUNDING TOOLS

KIAT is managing a dedicated funding scheme for EUREKA/EURIPIDES² projects. Korean partners are strongly advised to get in contact with KIAT representatives at the same time they apply for the EURIPIDES label either as leader or partner.

Eligibility of South Korean consortium:

  • If the South Korean leader of the project is a academia/research institute, there must be a South Korean company in the consortium.
  • South Korea as EUREKA associated country can lead/participate in a EURIPIDES² project with ONE (ore more) EUREKA member country.

FUNDING IN SOUTH KOREA

KIAT: REFUNDABLE GRANTS IN CASE OF SUCCESS
 
  • SME:                                        up to 75%
  • Medium size company:            up to 75%
  • Large Co:                                 up to 50%
  • Public Research-Universities: depends on the budget share between South Korean companies and academia

 

  • Approved project can be funded up to 300 Million KRW (210 K€) per year within max. 3 years
  • Academia alone is not eligible to funding, a South Korean companies must participate
